F.A.Q.
Frequently Asked Questions
* Will my dog listen to me after the training?
Yes, your dog will listen to you after he or she has successfully completed our dog training camp. All of our board and train programs come with a turn-over dog training session; which is scheduled on the day that you come to pick up your dog. Our turn-over session generally last between 1-3 hours. The turn over is where you learn everything that your dog has just learned. That way you get the hands on training experience with your dog. It’s a great way to begin on the right path – you get to change the dynamic – you can begin to be your dog’s leader.
* How do I get in contact with Midway Dog Academy to reserve my spot for training?
Once you have spoken to one of our dog trainers, you may reserve your dog’s training spot with the trainer that you have spoken with by putting down a deposit*. Once we have received your payment – you’re all set. We’ll confirm a date and time for drop-off.
* Deposit for services are non-refundable
*Who can I call to discuss my dog in more detail and talk about the dog training options available?
You can fill out our dog training form online ‘Discuss Your Dog‘ or you may call Laura, our office and scheduling manager at (888) My-Dogs 1 / (888) 693-6471. She will help expedite your call back by taking down all of your information, along with important details about your dog. She will then send it directly to the dog trainer that we refer to nearest your area.
* I see Midway Dog Academy has referring trainers, what does that mean?
Our referring dog trainers are not employed by Midway Dog Academy, each dog trainer owns their own separate business entity and is fully insured.
* What training equipment is included when our dog comes home? Will we have to buy anything?
No, you will not have to buy anything once your dog has successfully completed our dog training camps. All of our training equipment is included – that way everything stays consistent once you get home. You may purchase additional items should you want to. Every dog is different and learns differently; which is why we do not have 1 set way of training. We may train your dog with, but not limited to treats, gentle leader, remote training collars, dog harnesses, slip leads, pinch collar, doggy backpacks, long leads, muzzle, place boards, etc. Our goal is to find the perfect fit for you and your dog using our balanced approach.
* Will you train me to use the same approach as my dog was trained?
Yes, most definitely. On the day of turn-over you will spend between 1-3 hours with one of our dog trainers learning everything your dog has learned. We spend lots of time going over different training exercise, walks, off leash training, hands on training, and training you how to properly use your dog’s training equipment along with understanding dog psychology. We want to make sure you fully understand everything your dog has learned; which is why our turn overs are so important.
* What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit card, and check (along with a copy of your driver’s license).
* I have not yet received a call back – what do I do?
Typically you will hear back from either one of our trainers or Laura, our office and scheduling manager within 24-48 hours. Unfortunately sometimes things get lost in cyber space, we apologize for any inconvenience. If you have not yet received a call back, please call Laura at (888) My-Dogs1 / (888) 693-6471 or you can submit an e-mail to us at:
